Is there anything better than an engagement session in DUMBO? Anggi had a few must have ideas she wanted for her engagement session. She wanted DUMBO, Brownstones, Graffiti and a park setting. I was totally up for the challenge of getting every last one!
I first met Anggi and Steven at Pier 1 Brooklyn Bridge Park in DUMBO. Having shot here a bunch of times at golden hour and I knew that I wanted to switch it up and save this spot for dusk. From there we to headed over to one of my favorite little spots within the park that has great water views, an enclosed brick garden. Unfortunately this part was closed due to construction. We quickly switched gears and got some great shots for the “park” requirement.
Next we headed to Washington street to get that classic DUMBO shoot of the Brooklyn Bridge. This part can be tricky. There are always so many people here trying to get the iconic shot. I like to prompt my couples ahead of time before jumping in to grab our shots. You only get a few minutes to nail them before someone walks into your frame.
Afterwards we headed up to York Street to visit The Walls, another classic DUMBO spot. The Walls span the BQE and if you are looking for graffiti spots, this is the place to go. With street art featured by the likes of Shepard Fairy, CAM, MOMO and more, you won’t be disappointed.
Our next stop for Anggi & Steven’s engagement session, was the Fruit Streets in Brooklyn Heights. Some of the best Brownstones in Brooklyn can be found here.
With the sun starting to set, and the buildings starting to light up, we hustled it back down to the pier. Here we got some of my favorite photos of the evening. Manhattan was glittering across the water and it was the best way to end this perfect DUMBO engagement session.
