Queens Botanical Wedding: Laura + Mike

Laura and Mike’s Queens Botanical Garden wedding was one I was really looking forward to this year. Leading up to their wedding, they made it known to me how excited they were to have me shoot their wedding and in turn I couldn’t wait to create for them!

If there was any wedding that shows how am important a getting ready space is, Laura and Mike’s Queens wedding is it. They chose the TWA Hotel at New York’s JFK Airport. Set in the former TWA flight center, this hotel was a photographer’s dream. Floor to ceiling windows let in the most beautiful light. Add to that the amazing styled spaces, we were able to get the most stunning getting ready & bridal photos.

Forgoing a First Look, Mike didn’t see Laura until she was walking down the aisle. One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is seeing the look on a groom’s face when he sees his soon to be wife for the first time. The wedding ceremony took place in the wedding garden at the Queens Botanical Garden. Afterwards we spent time walking around the garden, which proved to be an equally stunning place for photos.

One of my favorite parts of Laura and Mike’s wedding was their first dance. They choose to dance to The Smiths, “There is a Light That Never Goes Out”. I just love when a couple’s wedding feels like who they are. And while I hadn’t met them in person until the day of, Laura and Mike’s wedding felt like a true, authentic representation of who they are as a couple!
