Grounds for Sculpture Wedding With Heartfelt Moments and Fine Art Inspiration

Some stories feel like they were always meant to be told—and this one started with a bouquet toss.

I first met Haley and Jordan while photographing another wedding. Haley was in the wedding party, and I spent a good part of the day with her. I didn’t meet Jordan until the reception, but the way they looked at each other? You could just tell. They were it. When Jordan caught the bouquet that night, everyone went absolutely wild—and I happened to catch some of my favorite candids of the whole year in that moment.

So when they reached out to have me photograph their Grounds for Sculpture wedding, I was over the moon. There’s always something special about being invited back into someone’s story, and to witness it come full circle like that? I felt incredibly lucky.

Why Grounds for Sculpture? Why not.

Photographing this Grounds for Sculpture wedding was creatively energizing—every turn revealed a new texture, light, or perspective to play with. I was honestly a little overwhelmed (in the best way) with how many places I wanted to shoot. The ceremony location was especially unique—set against the water and surrounded by sculpture, it looked like they were standing on stage. Then there’s the back view of Rat’s Restaurant—the bridge, the willows, the pond, the gardens—it all felt like something out of a secret storybook.

Personal Touches & Pure Joy

Jordan is an artist and handmade all the jewelry they wore—including beetle brooches and fringe cuffs for the groomsmen. Their seating chart featured framed illustrations of bugs, snakes, and botany paired with guests’ names and table numbers. It was so them—intentional, creative, personal.

Their day came together seamlessly thanks to the talented team at Greville Events, who made sure every detail was thoughtful and true to them. The florals, designed by Pensive Weeds, echoed the couple’s love for the natural and slightly unexpected—organic, artful, and totally original.

The energy they brought to the day was joyful and full of love. Their first look was deeply emotional, and they were so down for fun, editorial portraits using the installations around the grounds. The light during the ceremony was perfect, the vows were moving, and the entire day felt like a celebration not just of love—but of who they are.

Getting Ready On-Site

Both Haley and Jordan got ready on-site, which made things seamless for me as their photographer. It also allowed them to be more hands-on with their setup and spend more of the day truly present with each other and their people. Hair and makeup by En Moda Salon was the perfect balance of soft and editorial—timeless but still modern.

Yes—I Travel for Weddings Like This

While I’m based in the Northeast, I love traveling for weddings—especially when I connect deeply with a couple like I did with Haley and Jordan. Traveling tells me that a couple didn’t just want a photographer—they wanted me. That level of trust and creative alignment is something I never take for granted.

And honestly, traveling pushes me creatively in the best way. I walk into a space I’ve never photographed before with fresh eyes. It’s tempting to think you need someone who knows every inch of your venue, but I think there’s something beautiful about breaking routine and seeing a space for the first time with intention and curiosity. It keeps me on my toes in all the right ways.

A Wedding That Aligned With Everything I Love

This wedding reflected so much of what I’m drawn to—couples who lead with love, who value art and story, who infuse their day with joy and a bit of editorial flair. As someone who’s committed to creating a truly inclusive and safe space for all couples, photographing LGBTQ+ weddings is especially meaningful to me. It’s not just about representation—it’s about making sure love is seen, celebrated, and documented with the reverence it deserves.

And once the dancing started, EBE Talent kept the energy high all night long. Every single moment—from quiet getting ready scenes to wild dance floor energy—felt honest, electric, and completely true to them.

If you’re considering a Grounds for Sculpture wedding, don’t think twice. This venue is a dream for couples looking for a unique and art-inspired setting. The photo ops are endless. The food is incredible. And you can have everything—getting ready, ceremony, portraits, and reception—all in one place.
