Back in November I participated in a Holiday Giveaway with some fellow industry creatives. I gifted a mini session of the winner’s choice. Lauren was our winner (yay Lauren!) and wasn’t really sure where she wanted to do her mini engagement session. Both her and her fiance had never done professional photos before, so it was all a little new to them. I gave them a couple of ideas including tagging along with them while they picked out their Christmas tree because what is more perfect that a tree farm engagement session for a holiday giveaway!
She was so excited at this idea. The weekend before Lauren and Ryan had gone to cut down their Christmas tree only to find out that their cute pup Gibson wasn’t allowed to join them. Lauren asked me if I knew any dog friendly trees. I did all little searching on Google for some dog friendly tree farms, (they do exist!), we decided to meet at Fairview Tree Farms in Shelton, CT.
Fairview Tree Farms is a cute family owned tree farm. They let you cut your own tree and then haul it out for you. They have little barn gift shop full of Christmas decorations and rows and rows of trees of every size. On the weekends Fairview has a concession stand with hot chocolate and goodies. There is even a hayride with Santa!
It ended up being one of my favorite sessions that I have done in a while, because you can’t go wrong spending a crisp winter afternoon with Christmas trees, an adorable pupper and an incredibly gorgeous and fun couple. Does this job get any better than this?!
